E427H02 D28: The new oil filter for MAN D08 engines

Bilder_Februar_2025_1

Two oil filter variants are available for the MAN D08 engine: the E427H D28 for the Brazilian market and the E427H02 D28 for Europe. There is a clear technical reason for developing different filters for the same engine. Fuel quality, operating conditions and maintenance intervals vary considerably from region to region. To provide the engine with the best possible protection and to ensure a maximum service life for the engine oil, specially adapted filter media are used.

For example, longer maintenance intervals require particularly high-performance filter media with high chemical resistance and dust holding capacity. At the same time, sustainability is playing an increasingly important role. By taking regional requirements into account, transport routes can be optimized, CO₂ emissions reduced, and local resources used more efficiently.

As an OE partner, Hengst not only supplies the appropriate oil filter, but also the complete oil module for the MAN D08 engine. In addition to the filter, this also includes a heat exchanger and valves and is manufactured at the Nordwalde site using the aluminum die-casting process. Developed and validated in Germany, the module meets the highest quality and performance standards.

The E427H02 D28 is available now in the usual OEM quality. You can find more information about this and many other products in the online catalog or in the HENGST.garage video (with English subtitles).

Hengst type designation: The system behind our product codes

Anyone dealing with our type designations for the first time often has the feeling of reading a book with seven seals. A seemingly arbitrary combination of letters and numbers causes confusion – but appearances are deceptive! Behind every Hengst type designation there is a clear, well-thought-out system that enables quick and easy identification of the products.

Once you understand the principle, the apparent chaos becomes a logical structure that makes your daily work much easier. Whether you are in the warehouse, in the workshop or placing an order – with our system, you can see at a glance which product type it is, which product group it belongs to and what special features it has.

This is how our type code works

  • Filter type: The pictograms on the packaging show at a glance what type of product it is (e.g. oil, fuel, air or cabin air).
  • Product group: The first letter code of the type provides information about the category (e.g. AS for crankcase ventilation, E for filter inserts or H for oil filter modules).
  • Serial number: There is no system here, but it is a unique identifier.
  • Product type: An additional letter indicates the specific design (e.g. H for oil filter main flow, K for fuel filter, LI for cabin air filter).
  • Variant: A "01" or "02" at the end means that there are different variants of the product.
  • Product suffix: Additional markings such as "D" for a gasket kit or "R" for right-hand drive versions complete the type designation.
